Part 1. Jessica Simpson went from being a good Christian girl who was saving herself for marriage, working for a Christian recording label to a sex symbol (no longer a virgin) working for a major recording label, then landed herself a reality TV show (The Newlyweds) turning her into a superstar. Her new impresario caused these changes, which were needed in order to sell herself.

Part 2. Before her transformation she was known as a pop singer with a good voice that was an advocate for saving yourself for marriage. At the time people were more interested in Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera, they understood that sex sells. Jessica did come across as sexy, and was actually considered overweight in the business. She didn't sell many records and she didn't have any other business endeavors.
